Brooklyn, NY: Borough Hall Media Room

Mylene Fernández-Pintado takes part in the international panel at the Brooklyn Book Festival, discussing her new novel in translation, A Corner of the World.

Cultural Collisions: Around the Day in Eighty Worlds
A single country can contain multiple layers of co-existing, often clashing worlds—rich and poor, modern and ancient, powerful and powerless. How are these borders crossed in novels by Brazilian author Paulo Scott (Nowhere People), Cuban author Mylene Fernandez-Pintado (A Corner of the World), and Mexican author Valeria Luiselli (Faces in the Crowd)? Moderated by Anderson Tepper.

The Brooklyn Book Festival takes place at Brooklyn Borough Hall and Plaza on 209 Joralemon St., Brooklyn, NY 11201 from September 15 through September 21.
