CORNEL WEST is a scholar, philosopher, author and activist who is dedicated to building on Martin Luther King's legacy "of telling the truth and bearing witness to love and justice." Dr. West is author of over a dozen books including his bestseller, Race Matters. He appears frequently in the media, and has appeared on the Bill Maher Show, Colbert Report, CNN and C-Span as well as on Tavis Smiley’s PBS TV Show. A renowned Professor of African American Studies, Dr. West has taught at Harvard, Princeton and Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
